the
Queen's University Professor
Dr. Raver,
It's with great interest that I read the Ottawa Business Journal
article
entitled "Sexual harassment:
Poisoning profit prospects"
on page
4 of the August
8th
2005 issue.
Where do you draw the line regarding "unwanted sexual harass-
ment"?
Is it sexual harassment ONLY! when the woman OVERTLY does
NOT! GO ALONG with the sexual innuendos/suggestions/comments
directed her way or is it sexual harassment when she decides
to
REBUFF THE ADVANCES?
In
either case it's a hard thing to when it's
coming from A PERSON
IN AUTHORITY OVER YOU at work and your
husband is unemployed
or your a single mother and you *really* need that job.
As a temp-employee in the Government have seen women FORCED!
TO ACCEPT SEXUAL EXPLOITATION as a condition of having her
contract renewed. For married women or girls with boyfriends this
has
disasterous consequences in their private lives.
Incidentally,
temps are supposed to
receive a copy of a the evaluation
of
their performance regarding
their temp assignment. It's a Treasury
Board directive that is supposed to protect temps from employer
malice.
But the temp
agencies DON'T comply with this directive. This allows
Government employers to abuse temps at will and readily
EXPLOIT
THEM SEXUALLY because they are SO VULNERABLE.
The
temp agencies just want A SATISFIED CLIENT who gives them
repeat business and are willing to SACRIFICE! TEMPS who BUCK!
the GAME OF ABUSE+SEXUAL EXPLOITATION.
I
remember working for Barbara
Personnel with a women
from another
temp agency on a week assignment that involved mashing up samples
of various sea creatures that are eaten in restaurant n the Ocean and
Fisheries
lab kitchen on Lancaster Roadfor
an Ocean
and Fisheries
inspectors seafood smelling workshop.
Late
Tuesday afternoon she+I were
told that we might NOT! be working
past Wednesday by the two guys that ran the place, one who was
a
self-declared strip-tease addict, but would make that decision the next
day.
Wednesday
morning the two (2) guys
came for her to show her around
the lab. She was gone for over two (2) hours. When she came back she
was NOT! herself.
She
had been a hairdresser for 12
years who decided to go to college
and learn computer skills so she could do something other then be a
hairdresser. This was her second temp assignment.
We
ended up by working the whole week after that.
HOWEVER!
I NEVER! was allowed to
work for
Barbara
Personnel
again.
I
didN'T get a copy of my job
performance evaluation regarding that
job I did either.
She+I
were BOTH! SCREWED in my
opinion.
But
that is what happens to temps:
they are EXPENDIABLE!
Having
worked in about 25 Government
departments and having done
about 80 temp jobs through 15 temp agencies, I've come to learn
that
where there is a lot of $$$ in the Government, NOT! ONLY is the
ABUSE
of the PUBLIC PURSE is VERY! BAD, but there will ALWAYS! be
found
a NON-CONSENSUAL CULTURE OF SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF
WOMEN.
My
wife found herself in a similar situation: she was FORCED!
to choose
between her marriage and her job when I told her to go to the Police to
lay
charges of rape+sexual exploitation.
Her
employer responded by obliging
her to put me in the Royal Ottawa
Hospital, a
psychiatric institution, for a 30-day psychiatric
evaluation in
late August
1987 even
though I NEVER!
had any
sort of psychiatric past.
And
to make matters worse
her employer forced her
to see a psychiatrist
weekly who asked her if she was talking to me or if my kids were seeing
me. THIS IS MIND CONTROL+INTIMIDATION of the worst kind.
Consequently,
I hardly saw my kids
as she feared losing her job.
Her
employer, Dr. Danis Buchanan,
the Head of the Psychology Depart-
ment at the Rehab in Ottawa was referring clients to himself at his
office
at the Medical Centre on Russel Road near the corner of St-Laurent+
Smyth Road.
He
even asked my wife to work for
him at his private practice and asked
me if she should accept.
I
said NO! as she was NOT! his
employee, but an employee of the Rehab.
One of the key reasons I created my own political party, the É(eh)PC, is
to address the problem of SEXUAL HARASSMENT+SEXUAL EXPLOI-
TATION faced by women in the work place and the Stockholm
Hostage
Syndrome that keeps women from going to the Police to lay charges
of
rape+sexual exploitation which I advised my wife to do.
