as Seaton House shelter roommates, assaulted by a COP, threatened by ANOTHER COP, and verbally abused by 2 COPS December 7th is TOO MUCH!" says É(eh)PC President/Party Leader The POLICE have *intensified* their HARASSMENT lately: as a result, I've lost 20 lbs. Date: Friday, December 8th 2012 Time: 10:20 a.m. Place: Yonge St. Social Assistance Office (downtown Toronto, between Gould and Gerrard Streets) I wanted to know if a social assistance person working for Ontario Works who gets paid $400 at the end of the month after WORKING FULL-TIME if that $400 amount gets added to his end of the month $590 social assistance cheque. I explained my question to the girl behind the GLASS WALL counter. She said she didN'T know and that I would have to go to the Ontario Works and Social Assistance Office on Wellesley at the Wellesley and Jarvis intersection. Footnote ======= What she said is NOT TRUE: there is an Ontario Works Office there at that location because when the Ontario Works people came to Seaton House (Toronto eastside men's shelter) in early December to give their presentation (which I attended), they said they came from *THAT* OFFICE. Police Abuse ========== In no time a HUGE-built, broad shoulder, 6'4" 275 lbs guy with a military haircut slouched in his chair starts berating me OUT LOUD and ends by MAKING THREATS by the time I walk out of the place. Time: 11:10 a.m. Place: Ontario Works and Social Assistance Office (at the Wellesley and Jarvis intersection) No one behind the GLASS WALL COUNTER could answer my question: EVERYONE was VERY EVASIVE. Police Abuse ========== As I was asking different people behind the counter for an answer to my question, IMMEDIATELY an hefty build undercover cop in a tanned light brown leather jacket with long light brown hair curled below his shoulder and missing a few teeth starts to VERBALLY HARASS me while standing behind me. THE ANSWER =========== I got to speak to the supervisor. She's A DARLING African-Canadian with a BIG FACE with A BIG SMILE. She explained that for every $$$ earned through Ontario Works it is taken of the person's $590 monthly social assistance cheque. I asked if we can get THE LIST OF THE EMPLOYERS hiring through Ontario Works that are CHARGING FULL PRICE WAGES to Ontario Works: she said NO. SLAVE LABOUR ============= Ontario Works pays $2.50 an hour to the person on social assistance and that money gets deducted 100% from his monthly social assistance cheque. MEANWHILE the employer is PAYING FULL WAGES for that person's work to Ontario Works. Time: 3:30 p.m. Place: Gerrard + Sherbourne Intersection The HUGE undercover cop that I met at 10:20 a.m. comes charging at me going south at Sherbourne while I was waiting to cross going west on Gerrard and PUSHES ME forcing me to running east down Gerrard Street. I HOLLERED REPEATEDLY as I am pointing at him, "Call the Police, I was was assaulted by an undercover cop." . He proceeded south on Sherbourne and THEN decides to come running after me. He repeated this A SECOND TIME as I continue to REPEATEDLY HOLLER, "Call the Police, I was was assaulted by an undercover cop." as I'm pointing at him. Time: 6:00 p.m. Place: Gerrard + Sherbourne Intersection Going east on Gerrard just as I pass the intersection the undercover COP that beat me up at the back of Osgoode Hall after a FREE Sunday breakfast with OTHER undercover COPS looking on in amusement few summers ago walks right by me. Right behind him was (I believe his name is Bill Harris) ANOTHER undercover COP (a big, burly, 5'4" cop with a white beard and baseball hat and jacket) who harassed me while he was living at Seaton House STOPS on his bike and WARNS ME: WATCH YOUR BACK. DONATIONS ========== The Province of Ontario is NO LONGER giving PNA (Personal Needs and Allowance) $$$ ($30 a week paid bi-weekly) to the men living in shelters. To get ANY $$$, they have to now join Ontario Works. The staff at Seaton House went out of their way to say that I should sign up with Ontario Works.
